タイ文化遺産をムアン・ボーランという場所に集めているということで、バンコクからタイ湾に向かって東南33kmの田園風景へ行ってきました。

運河のような堀で囲まれ、さらにその周囲に広がる水田の上に浮かんでいるという形です。

面積128万平米。タイ国土の形をした敷地。日本で言う「明治村」にあたります。ミニチュアの村ということではハウステンボスが似ていますが、実物大から1/2くらいまでの相当大きな建造物群で、正確に再現しています。
驚くべきことに、レンガの傾き、古さなどを忠実に再現しており、いまなお増設中です。

The Floating markets were part of the traditional way of life of communities along the riverbanks of Siam. The Ancient City's floating market recreates the structures and landscape of the past, with the aim of revealing their underlying meaning. A long canal was excavated and the architecture of an old community re-established,
especially the homes and shop houses along the river bank. Visitors will see a Buddhist temple, a Chinese shrine, a Christian church and an old Muslim masjid settled harmoniously among traditional Thai style houses, large and small, all reflecting the simple beauty of folk wisdom. A pavilioned pier and a bridge link both banks, allowing visitors to explore further.
The floating market allows visitors to experience the atmosphere of a peaceful Thai community which welcomes visitors from all walks of life, regardless of race, nationality or religion. The pleasant society along the waterway celebrates mankind's ability to live together in peace and harmony.

超約：水上マーケットは、タイの川岸の伝統的な生活様式でした。運河に浮かんだ船から、仏教寺院、中国の神社、キリスト教教会などさまざまな宗教の建築物が見られました。
